• Stunning blue and brown marbled glaze with cream banding
• An everyday kitchen classic!
• Marked 'made in England' to base - Staffordshire
• In excellent vintage condition throughout

History:
Original Brown Betty teapots, are distinguished by their red Etruria Marl clay and a rich manganese glaze known as Rockingham. The use of Etruria Marl clay, resulted in ceramic with a high heat retention, so naturally the perfect choice for a teapot and the Rockingham glaze with its 'marbled' finish helped to disguise any tea drips when in use! Brown Betty teapots, by default, can often display glaze imperfections and age related crazing, both of which are integral to their character and charm.

Year of manufacture:
c. 1930s-1950s

Approximate Measurements:
H: 15cm (6")
W: 16cm (6.2) diameter
W: 25cm (10") from handle to spout

Condition:
In excellent condition throughout, free of any wear, chips, nibbles or damage of note with a spotless interior. As with all Brown Betty teapots it does display their characteristic crazing to its glaze.

Please note that due to its very glossy glaze any 'hot white' areas in these photos are purely light reflections.

Buyers Guide:
It is very important to note, that all the pieces Roof + Roof sell are genuine pieces of age, each having a rich and varied past and are never sold as in new condition. With this in mind, minor blemishes, surface scratches, manufacturing flaws and a general sense of their age and history are naturally to be expected. We always try, to the best of our ability to honestly and clearly communicate an items condition, both in our description and photography, highlighting anything over and above what we perceive as ‘general age related wear and tear'. We kindly ask you look closely at all our photos, using the zoom facility, as these naturally form part of the item's description.

Please be aware that your monitor, tablet, or mobile device may emulate colours/tones differently 'on screen' to that of the actual physical item, all of which are photographed and shown to the best of our abilities. Any item/prop shown in our photography is used for styling purposes only. Prior to purchasing, if you would like further clarification on any item, then we are always happy to help in any way possible.
