This carefully curated English demitasse teacup and saucer, is a match made in heaven!

Key Points:
• A scarce Coalport saucer paired with a Cartwright & Edwards teacup
• A ‘bone white’ cup and warm cream and dark ruby saucer
• Produced in Shropshire by Coalport and Staffordshire C&E (Victoria China) respectively.

History:
This rare little Coalport saucer, is marked Coalport, England to its base ,with their green crowned, 'England' back-stamp dating the piece to between 1891-1919. along with 14K5, Production at this time was at Coalport Porcelain Works, (John Rose & Co) in Coalport, Shropshire, though soon after in c1926 manufacture moved to Stoke-on-Trent. Coalport today are still the epitome, of high quality, English china, with detailed hand 'tooled and jewelled' pieces such as this saucer highlighting their skill and craft at its finest.

The bone china teacup is by Cartwright & Edwards, their Victoria trade name was introduced c.1912 and used on china produced at their Victoria Works, Longton, the piece dates to the 1920s.

Teacup: c. 1880-1900
Saucer: c. 1920s

Design:
Both of a petite scale, the bone china cup, has a gentle ribbed shape, angled '7' bamboo pattern handle. The demitasse saucer, showing the highest of workman ship throughout, has heavy 22K gilt edging and intricate tooled and hand-painted scroll work. To note: These are non-matching items, the saucer having a slightly warmer more cream appearance than the 'bone white' of the cup, that said, they pair/marry very well.

Approx. Measurements:
Teacup: 6cm Diameter (8 cm diameter including handle) / 5.5 cm H
Saucer: 11 cm Diameter

Condition:
Teacup: Showing some very, very subtle wear to a small area of the the gilt on its handle but this is only visible under extreme scrutiny. Otherwise its gilt is in perfect antique condition. It is fee of chips, nibbles or damage.
Saucer: A wonderful piece in beautiful antique condition. In detail, as a super picky seller, it has a couple of tiny surface 'movement' marks to its red pattern, likely from the placing of a cup and one very tiny 2mm unproblematic old hairline to its underside face which cannot be seen thru to its front face (please see image 9 for clarity). Its painted exterior overall is very rich and the gilt is free of damage or wear. No nibbles, chips or repair.
