Four RARE Antique Booths Real Old Willow Pattern Fully Gilded '9072' Saucers

£30.00

These RARE and very early Booths '9072' saucers, are collectible gems! Known as 'breakfast saucers' they'd have originally accompanied grand teacups!

As they have unusually flared sides - think more of a dish than a saucer, we think they'd make excellent spoon rests, nibble bowls, soap dishes, or simply beautiful display pieces.

Key Points:
• RARE Booths breakfast saucers
• Gorgeous cobalt blue & white oriental design with extensive gilt work
• Country cottage styling with a petal shaped, scalloped rim
• Produced by Booths, Stoke-On-Trent
• In the much RARER fully gilt, 9072 pattern
• Price is for set of four

History:
Pattern 9072, is one of the most collectible willow pattern designs available! However to add to the confusion, Booths have produced a series of very similar designs over the years, meaning that naturally, some items have become much rarer than others.

First produced in c. 1906, pattern '9072', is easily recognisable by its 'crown over' back-stamp, 'ENGLAND', featuring on one straight line, and its highly collectible 'all-gilt decoration. We can helpfully also further narrow down production dates, to between 1908-1912 based, on the placement of their large gilt stars, that are much larger than on later examples.

Booths also, from 1944, went on to produce another very similar design, with the pattern number 'A8025', this specific design, being much more widely available.

Year of manufacture:
c. 1908-1912

Pattern:
Real Old Willow - Fully Gilt (9072)

Origin:
England

Approximate Measurements:
6.10"/ 15.5 Diameter / 3cm High

Condition:
Hopefully clarified in the above information, these are lovely examples of Booths fully gilded '9072' wares, each in very good antique condition, especially given that they are approximately 110 years old.

As to be expected they all show some light signs of patchy wear to their gilt edges and the odd loss (in tiny areas) to their inner decorative detailing, but we stress nothing significant.

Each has very light 'teacup' placement or utensil marks from use, but these are only visible when tipped to the light, under direct scrutiny. All are free of chips, nibbles, cracks or repair.

Buyers Guide:
It is very important to note, that all the pieces Roof + Roof sell are genuine pieces of age, each having a rich and varied past and are never sold as in new condition. With this in mind, minor blemishes, surface scratches, manufacturing flaws and a general sense of their age and history are naturally to be expected. We always try, to the best of our ability to honestly and clearly communicate an items condition, both in our description and photography, highlighting anything over and above what we perceive as ‘general age related wear and tear'. We kindly ask you look closely at all our photos, using the zoom facility, as these naturally form part of the item's description.

Please be aware that your monitor, tablet, or mobile device may emulate colours/tones differently 'on screen' to that of the actual physical item, all of which are photographed and shown to the best of our abilities. Any item/prop shown in our photography is used for styling purposes only. Prior to purchasing, if you would like further clarification on any item, then we are always happy to help in any way possible.
