We adore this rarely found Magic Garden pattern, by Susan Williams Ellis for Portmeirion. This coffee set was designed shortly before the 1969 Moon Landing and with its unusual pattern of futuristic ferns, seeds pods and birds, it clear to see it was inspired by the exciting era of space travel.

In a rich black, teal and blue colour way, the name of this Mid Century set 'Magic Garden' couldn't be more appropriate and its cool 60's styling, and useable design it will effortlessly blend into a modern or vintage home.

Good to know:
Having studied under Henry Moore and Graham Sutherland at the Chelsea School of Art, Susan Williams-Ellis was an artist/author who was also the daughter of Portmeirion's architect, Sir Clough Williams-Ellis. Susan founded Portmeirion Pottery with her husband Euan in 1960s with great success throughout the 20th century. Magic Garden is one of the designs from Williams-Ellis' Serif Series.
