This stunning, scarcely found vase, is in excellent condition displaying unmistakably 'Art Deco' style and flair.

Of the highest quality and a most collectible piece, its body has beautiful banded swirls in opposing directions, complemented by fluid winged sides and a soft sawtooth rim.

Produced in Zagreb, in the former Yugoslavia, it has been expertly crafted in a delicate blush pink, very heavyweight press moulded glass.

Key Points:
• A scarcely found pressed glass vase
• Classic Art Deco Styling with 'winged handles' and ribbed banding
• Beautiful blush pink, very heavyweight glass
• Produced by STS -Sjedinjene Tvornice Stakl, Zagreb
• Shown in the STS catalogue of 1936 (please see image 10)

History:
In 1921 four glass factories in the former Yugoslavia merged to form a new company called 'Sjedinjene Tvornice Stakla' N.D. (STS) / "United Glass Factories", with its head office in Zagreb.

The STS catalogue for 1936 shows this piece clearly (please refer to image 10). STS ceased trading after the second world war, when all the glassworks were nationalised as part of the communist regime.

Year of manufacture:
c. 1936

Pattern:
No. 2017

Approximate Measurements:
25cm H / 14.5 cm W (at widest point)

Condition:
A scarcely found example and in excellent condition throughout with minimal signs or wear or use. Slight movement marks to its base and a couple of very tiny marks inside from use are the only minor flaws of note. An excellent display or collectors piece.

Bubbles and inclusions are very common in this era of glass and are not thought of as flaws.

Buyers Guide:
It is very important to note, that all the pieces Roof + Roof sell are genuine pieces of age, each having a rich and varied past and are never sold as in new condition. With this in mind, minor blemishes, surface scratches, manufacturing flaws and a general sense of their age and history are naturally to be expected. We always try, to the best of our ability to honestly and clearly communicate an items condition, both in our description and photography, highlighting anything over and above what we perceive as ‘general age related wear and tear’.

We kindly ask you look closely at all our photos, as these naturally form part of the item's description. Please be aware that your monitor, tablet, or mobile device may emulate colours/tones differently 'on screen' to that of the actual physical item, all of which are photographed and shown to the best of our abilities. Any item/prop shown in our photography is used for styling purposes only. Prior to purchasing, if you would like further clarification on any item, then we are always happy to help in any way possible.
